Wolfbane Productions will be presenting the Last Five Years in association with the Renaissance Theatre in downtown Lynchburg!
Last Five Years
A contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up… or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. Written by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For A New World), The Last Five Years is an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both points of view. The Last Five Years opened at Off-Broadway’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City on March 3rd, 2002 and was directed by Daisy Prince . Our production will be directed by Aaron Farr with music direction by Heather Bales. Set design and lighting design will be by Aaron Farr and Dustin Williams.
“Funny and uplifting, the show captures some of the most heartbreaking and universally felt moments of modern romance.”
“Short, bittersweet and nearly perfect, Brown has come up with a winning combination of music and book that could run longer than the couple he so artfully dissects.” Variety
Show dates are April 22,23,24,25,29,30 and May 1st. All performances are at 8 PM EXCEPT April 25th which will be a 3 PM matinee. Performances are at Renaissance Theatre, 1022 Commerce Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
